03 Why We Worship

We worship God because He is worthy to be worshiped. We saw that the first reason He is worthy to be worshiped is because He created all things. The second reason that the angel revealed to John about why He is worthy to be worshiped is found in Revelation 5:8-10. The four living creatures and twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb of God and “sang a new song, saying, Worthy are You…for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” He is worthy to be worshiped because He purchased us. We belong to God. He purchased us with His blood. He did not purchase us with silver or gold, but with His own precious blood (1 Peter 1:18-19).

(Rev 5:8-10)  “When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. {9} And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. {10} You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

When we enter into praise and worship, tell the Lord, “I worship You because I belong to You. You purchased and redeemed me.

  1. Hi Bill and Karen, you may not remember me – Paulette Swanson – I met with you several times last year.
I’m coming to you this morning asking for your prayers. I’ve been diagnosed with lung cancer and will begin radiation and chemo therapy very soon.
I know you believe our God is a God of miracles and that sin and disease has already been dealt with through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I long to experience the love and support of Gods people standing with me is this difficult time.

  2. Karen and Bill, thank you both for your response.
Tomorrow I will be going to Presbyterian cancer center for simulation. No radiation involved tomorrow just the marking my body (?) and experiencing what this will be like. On Friday I have a MRI on my head and neck. Once we see the results on that, treatments will begin. This is to be sure nothing has spread to that area.
At this point the plan is Monday through Friday I will be treated with radiation for 20 minutes each day. Friday’s only will also include a low dose chemo treatment. Rest over the weekend then start the procedure again on Monday for 6 weeks.
Yes Karen I do believe God supernaturally heals us from cancer cells. I will be on line with you on Sunday. Thank you for Your love of Gods people.
